maybe a note should be placed in the demuxers which are being
depreciated. so future patch submitters can fix up LAVF instead.
or in MAINTAINERS file etc.
i forsee an email exchange:
[PATCH] some feature for X demuxer
rejected, X demuxer is depreciated, fix up Y demuxer instead
