I'm using at least gcc-4.2 in all the systems I use. Still I like better
have variables declared on the top of the functions instead anyplace.
Could you please try to avoid that practice in code we all touch and
accept changes if somebody (dalias) wants to build mplayer on his
strange setup and ends up with some patches?
