How many "several" have any need to change the code? I'm quite sure that
most developers have had no problems whatsoever with my code, and even
if someone does still have gcc-2.95 on some rarely maintained antique
machine it is not essential to development. Being able to compile the
newest MPlayer on such a machine is not a reason to demand that others
change the way they write code.
