This affects (or affected?) only the main binaries, which include version.h.

That's no sabotage - CCACHE_HASHDIR will work as usually (and you need
to use it anyway for the files outside of libav*).

In FFMpeg, each sub-Makefile is explicitly called (like in the
additional patch in this thread) so it should be very easy to fix
without increasing the complexity... if this workaround won't be
flushed into a toilet :)
