Yes you can.  The answer is that the order "you say it" is different
around the world.  Some countries use first name then last name, others
use last name then first name, Hungary being a prominent example of the
latter.

This lead to the problem that names were put in mixed order in the
AUTHORS file.  Plus, since we have contributors from all over the world
it's sometimes hard to tell first name and last name apart in languages
you are not familiar with.

I'm not saying the current way is perfect, but it was done for a good
reason.
