Well, it sure makes it simpler, but why is it correct??
Sorry for being so doubting, but I just can't imagine that all this code
had no use at all...
Just a one-sentence description of how the logic is changed would have
made a lot of sense, so that it will be easier later to backtrack bugs
(btw. you can change the log message with cvs admin -m)
