This is wrong.
The patch just fixed a compilation bug if zlib was not installed.  
vd_lcl still requires zlib if you want to decode avizlib files. The  
previous patch (v1.4 to v1.5) added support for files with arbitrary  
zlib compression level, and intoduced that compilation bug.

Anyway, now MPlayer uses lcl from libavcodec as default decoder, so  
this file will soon be removed.
