I think you won't win anything with such harsh decisions, instead developers 
affected might get grief and turn away from mplayer. IMHO such we are eleet, 
no errors allowed attitude sux.
And no, I'm no fan of MKV or OGG...

You must also see, that on many other CVS servers is usual to remove and readd 
a file in order to rename it, as you don't have an admin to do it everywhere.
I don't think everyone will remember each thing in cvs-howto.txt he read long 
time ago, especially when working on cvs elsewhere, with different rules.

This is just my side of view, don't care to flame me about it.
