Hmm, but why is AFMT_AC3 an unsupported format then? Anyways DTS-PAssthrough
shouldn't be a big deal in comaprison to ac3. I have the hardware to test it,
just the windows partition on my laptop has no build enviroment for mplayer
(or any IDE for a matter of fact :-). Also in linux passthrough to spdif on
my latop doesn't work at all, in windows it's working fine using AC3Filter
with both AC3 and DTS.
Btw. mentioning AC3Filter (v1.01a RC5), it also includes an AC3 encoder, so
every audio source (true multichannel or not) can be output via SPDIF, which
is an extremely handy thing, especially if you have a cheapo AMP which only
does AC3 or if you don't want to connect 4 3,5mm to RCA cables from soundcard
to 7.1 in on the AMP... So if someone has to much time on his hands, he could
implement AC3Encoder as an audio filter for mplayer, using codebase from
FFmpeg (I'm pretty busy at the moment, so that person is not me :-).
