[Mplayer-cvslog] -benchmark fixes tv glitch?!

  O  OOOOOO      i've been using mplayer for about three days
  O OOOOOOO      now.

    OO  OOO      i've been having a problem when watching tv. the
        OOO      video is "jerky". about once a second, or once
        OOO      every two seconds, the video "jumps". perhaps
   O     OO      its a dropped frame, perhaps something else. not
OOOOO           sure.

OOOOO  O        xawtv does NOT exhibit the same problem.

OOOOO  O        now here's the kicker - when i use the
OOOO   OOO      "-benchmark" switch (when trying to debug the
OOOO   OOO      problem) i notice that the problem GOES AWAY.

OO     OOO      any clues as to what's the deal?

OOOOO OOOO      my stats: 2.0ghz pentium, redhat 8 and/or 9.
