these would also benefit from knowing a few images ahead ...
brightness / contrast correcture (the correct (2-Pass) way) perhaps by 
sampling a few keyframes ...
cut filter to cut commercials and such stuff out (the user specifies some 
time intervals and the filter kills these)
cat filter to concatenate stuff (user specifies files & time-intervals in 
these which should be used as input...)
frame-rate changeing filters (hq with MC i mean), inverse telecine stuff

... cant think of any more impossible ones currently ;)
