yes, i believe u, allthough iam starting to wonder why my mails are beiing 
delayed like crazy ;)

requested bitrate=1000 hmm
1kbit? ffmpeg cant do that yet
vbitrate=1000000 is 1000kbit
btw. why does mencoder want the bitrate for libavcodec in bits and not kbit?
