How can I circumvent this automatic resampling behaviour?
It just plain sucks on my P150MMX notebook! Playing an MPEG1 file, even with
-vc null -vo null gives the following output:

Selected video codec: [null] vfm:null (NULL codec (no decoding!))
==========================================================================
AO: [oss] 44100Hz 2ch Signed 16-bit (Little-Endian)
Building audio filter chain for 44100Hz/2ch/16bit -> 44188Hz/2ch/16bit...
Start playing...
A:   9.6 V:   2.6 A-V:  7.047 ct:  0.169   55/ 55   0%  0% 523.9% 50 0 41%

         ************************************************
         **** Your system is too SLOW to play this! ****
         ************************************************

That 523.9% is totally bogus, but aside that, audio playing skips, like the
CPU wouldn't be enough... Not to mention what happens when video is decoded and
displayed.
This worked before this automatization!

-ao null also works.
