Sadly, yes. There are a few fools who refuse to listen to the fact
that the lavc interface is NOT stable yet and that it should NOT be
used as a shared library. They whine a lot if mplayer doesn't support
their old slow lavc without any modern features. IMO they should shut
up and follow the instructions in the fine manual for installing
mplayer rather than doing all this mess with unstable shared libs.
