How difficult to decode was your video? I've seen plenty of reports  
that dual-G5 Power Macs can't play 720p WMV9 properly, and my G3  
can't even play 320x240 clips without dropping frames. Flip4Mac's  
Quicktime plugin is much better at it, but mplayer going through a QT  
interface would only be able to play the first half of anything  
unless the user paid for it.
