Whoops! OK there wasn't enough information in that message so here is try
#2 I guess this is a bug report but I am sure the answer is something that I
have to do to work around it.
Platform:
Mac OSX 10.2.4 December 2002 Developer tools

I attached the config.* files in a zip file.
Here is the configure and the symbols that are missing:
