then it's imho problem of sdl-config --libs not returning this kib, so sdl-lib
should be fixed...

heh? set your PATH to PATH=/usr/local/bin:$PATH before compiling, assuming you
have gnu gcc and gnu binutils and gnu make in /usr/local/bin...
