No, and that's exactly the problem: DVD subtitles need some info
(palett) from the .ifo file, but mplayer does not know how to get it
apart from reading it from the DVD...  Or wait, try it with the new
vobsub support (mplayer -vobsubid 0 -vobsub vts_02_1 vts_02_1.vob) and
tell us the result!

The crashing part should be fixed now.
