[MEncoder-users] mencoder issues: xvid/mp3 2-pass hangs at 2nd pass

Hi,

I have been using mencoder to transcode MPEG video for years, using the 
mplayer-package provided by packman.links2linux.de on openSUSE.

Since r37117, encoding hangs just at the end of the second pass using the 
following commands:

mencoder -noodml -noskip -mc 0 file.m2p -vf dsize=512:288,scale=512:288,pp7 -ovc xvid -xvidencopts bitrate=1200:noqpel:nogmc:closed_gop:pass=1 -oac copy -o test.avi
mencoder -noodml -noskip -mc 0 file.m2p -vf dsize=512:288,scale=512:288,pp7 -ovc xvid -xvidencopts bitrate=1200:noqpel:nogmc:closed_gop:pass=2 -oac mp3lame -lameopts vbr=3:br=128:q=0 -o file.avi
---

To make sure this is upstream, I checked out MEncoder r37181 and compiled 
it myself - same result. This used to work until r36557.

I have been using the above options of mencoder for a long time, and maybe 
they are somewhat outdated, however: This could very well be a bug.
