[MEncoder-users] which movie format for different OS (windows, apple, linux ...)

Hi,

about inserting the title... Do you want the player to handle the title as sort of "avi tag"?? (like ID3)  or do you want the text inside the movie - so any player displays it as part of the movie?
Windows doesnt handle mp4 out of the box. maybe windows 7. 

I suggest avi container + divx or xvid and mp3 as audio codec, create the video in a 2 or 3 pass encoding and you will have good quality/size

Not Mac. Most current versions of Mac OS and Quicktime are missing the 
mpeg codec entirely. The user would have had to install the deprecated 
version of Quicktime 7 from the OS install disc.
