I reported that build r34341 doesn't behave any differently from r34332 or
r34338 with respect to the problem. I compiled latest SVN this weekend
(r34362, I think) with no improvement, although I haven't tried today's yet.

The latest I have that works is r34185. Time to take it to the developer's
list, I suppose.
