[MEncoder-users] Problem with ac3 encoding: 1 duplicate frame(s)!

I am doing this:

mencoder -noskip -ovc x264 -speed 24000/25000 -ofps 24 -vf
hqdn3d,softskip,harddup -x264encopts
subq=1:frameref=3:me=hex:bframes=3:b_adapt:threads=auto:8x8dct:crf=12:b_pyramid=normal:weightp=2:keyint=250:weight_b:vbv_maxrate=40000:vbv_bufsize=30000:level_idc=41
 -channels 6 -srate 48000 -oac lavc -af lavcresample=48000 -lavcopts
acodec=ac3:abitrate=448 -alang en,de -slang en,de -vobsubout
Lucky#Number#Slevin#3 dvd://3 -dvd-device /dev/sr0 -of lavf -lavfopts
format=matroska -o Lucky#Number#Slevin#3€reenc.mkv -aid 129

Using

MEncoder SVN-r33074-4.5.2

I get endlessly "1 duplicate frame(s)!"-messages, about every 0.5s. Actually I
stopped at about Position 30 seconds.

If I use "-lameopts cbr:br=224:aq=0:mode=1" instead of ac3-Audio or(!) switch
back to

MEncoder SVN-r32719-4.5.2

using the same source and calling the exactly the same options as above
(including ac3-Audio!!!) I get 3 "Skipping frame!"-messages until position
2.9seconds (using the older version) or 4"Skipping frame!"-messages until
position 2.3 seconds using the new version but sticking to mp3-sound. The
encoding continues without problems (tested so far until 3% of the whole movie).
Although I don't know why mencoder skips frames at the beginning, this is the
behaviour I am used too and which leads to very satisfying results.

So do newer versions of mencoder break ac3-encoding or does my simple mind
misses something again ....

Kind regards
Bernd B.
