OK, I'll try. I had been using

svn checkout svn://svn.mplayerhq.hu/mplayer/trunk mplayer

With beginner's luck, I suppose, I decided to instead use

svn checkout svn://svn.mplayerhq.hu/mplayer/trunk mplayer-devel
