Hi
this may be obvious, but is hidden in the detail:

I want to record video in and audio in and watch the output live.

I do run mplayer on the newly created file with about 1 sec delay and I've been 
told that is not acceptable.

Any suggestions on how to do this please.

Video In: /dev/video0  (v4l)
Audio In: /dev/dsp

I want to watch this and listen live AND record to result.avi
