which do CFLAGS options do you recommend for compilation of mencoder and libx264 ?

In h264enc docs I found such advice

To obtain best performance, I suggest to download MPlayer and the
libx264 library and compile them yourself. You should use the appropriate
CFLAGS at compilation time to optimize the code for your hardware
