Yes, and also if something is trivially fixable it will be fixed.
I am not aware of any developer willing to do more than that.
Though there is a patch around that is supposed to fix quite a few
A-V sync issues by reusing code from MPlayer that fell between
the cracks, if someone reminds me of it and/or just applies it
that might help quite a few people (I think it was ok, just
due to holidays and the travelling involved I never got around
to apply it).
