Needs to be just right... Not just better.

I'll try make my point again.

Yes! Before.

It needs to be at least *still running* when the copy video/audio
reindexing command is started, yes.

Yes. Noticeable difference.

Interesting, and next time I digitize tapes I might be back to try and
use it.
Also, I am certain debian/ubuntu is fine breed of Linux, and it'd
certainly be interesting to use, but I am all over gentoo to use it
properly in my 50s and my mind is not so fresh anymore :-)
In some of the posts of mine to this or mplayer list I posted how I
was able to get good sync in the way I already explained to you in the
earlier post, and confirmed with a few "yes" and more explanations
above, with this added bonus to the process...
That is, I succeded in getting the sync right with this added bonus to
the process:
After the reindexing command is on the way, running for even just a
few seconds, I was able to kill the capturing process and get the sync
right.
I'm glad the compile thing is also done. It was a few weeks ago, and
can't go look for the posts now.... Busy...
I hope you'll be digitizing fine your tapes soon!
