[MEncoder-users] No video problem with Mencoder

Ok figured it out. Needed to select Progressive under Material on the VP6
configuration window. Now I can see the video. I wish life was so simple.

Hi all,

I'm trying to convert videos to flv using mencoder but I keep getting a
video file with sound but no video. I'm a newbie with mencoder so not sure
if it's to do with my command options. I'm using mencoder svn r29355 and
running on windows xp.

Here's my command to create a 5 sec flv video ripped from a dvd using vp6
encoder.

mencoder -dvd-device S:\ -chapter 10-10 dvd://1 -of lavf -oac
mp3lame -lameopts abr:br=56 -srate 22050 -ovc vfw -xvfwopts
codec=vp6vfw.dll:compdata=onepass.mcf -ofps 25 -vf
harddup,flip,scale=500:280 -mc 0 -noskip -endpos 5 -o test.flv

I've also tried converting a mov file and x264 codec but same result. The
funny thing is this did work at one time but the results were rubbish so I
was going to come back to it. Now every time I try I get no video. Anyone
have any ideas cause' its driving me crazy.
