What exactly are you referring to? If I use a DirectShow graph with an
AviSynth script, it uses the decoder I specify, but it's out of sync. If
I use DirectShowSource in an AviSynth script, it doesn't use the decoder
with the highest merit (other DirectShow-based programs will, however),
but rather FFmpeg, which crashes when trying to process the video (which
is why I can't convert the file with MEncoder directly).

A 5 minute sample is about 500MB (I use its maximum 13mbps CBR). Even
that may be too short to notice sync problems if one stream goes faster
than the other. I can upload the sample later today.

How did you come to that conclusion? It's not a matter of how powerful
my system is anyway.
