[MEncoder-users] capture desktop video?

Hello,

I want to record my actions in some desktop. Yes, I want to record a 
movie. How can I capture that? Via v4l2 device?

Afaik xvidcap and vlc can do this. Is there any way to do this using 
mplayer/mencoder?
