Funny, you are getting the opposite of what I usually see... Using
harddup when ripping hybrid dvd material prevents loss of sync for
me.
When I encode from avi to dvd using source that was created without
harddup, I sometimes find that re-encoding the audio and remuxing
fixes the desync that is produced by the "null" frames.
