[MEncoder-users] MEncoder: not encoding entire file. Stops without error. (Video file broken?!)

Hi guys!

I'm trying to re-encode a x264 video file, but mencoder always stops
encoding before the video ends. wich results in about 8 minutes being
lost.
Even when using "-ovc copy" and "-oac copy" this happens.

The problem occurs at 36:09 minutes, when playing in mplayer the
playback will just stop there (just as if the ending was reached). But
if i skip over this point manually mplayer will play the rest of the
file fine. You can find the mplayer output at the end of this email.

I have been doing a lot of toying around with this file in the last
few hours (different formats, ffmpeg, rawvideo etc) and at one point
ffmpeg reported something about timestamps being "not monotone" or
something like that around the area (just one message and then it
aborted). But i can't reproduce the steps that led to this right now.

Is there any way to fix this file? Maybe it's possible to find the
'trouble' frames and just drop them?

Ah, and I am sorry: I am no video expert. So if i sound very
newbie-like or stupid, then please bare with me.
