[MEncoder-users] createing avi with opendml < 1 GB

As I understand it, mencoder creates avi-Files with open-DML, only if the 
file is larger than 1 GB. Is there any way, to force open-DML for smaller 
files? If there is curently no switch, could mencoder be patched?

My problem is, that I want to use the avi created by mencoder on an 
mp3-player (Sansa Fuze), which works with open-DML only. So at the 
moment, all files created with mencoder need to be remuxed with the 
Windows tool avimuxgui. It seems to be the only program thta can write 
open-DML avis smaller than 1 GB.

Or is there any other tool that can do this?
