How did you manage to not only quote incorrectly (failing to add the
requisite '>' symbols), but post your reply in a *completely different
thread*, and add yourself to Reply-To into the bargain?

The only way I can think of you could have done that is to have hit
Reply in the other thread, deleted all of the automatically-quoted text,
gone to RC's post and copied the text you wanted to quote, then gone to
your reply and pasted it in.
