Hi all,
I have a Dimarsion DM-P377 standalone player and a Hauppauge PVR350 TV tuner
card. The tuner card has a built in mpeg encoder, and I can nicely record
from it into .mpg files. This is what I get when playing the outcoming file:
*****************************
MPEG-PS file format detected.

VDec: vo config request - 720 x 576 (preferred colorspace: Mpeg PES)
Could not find matching colorspace - retrying with -vf scale...
Opening video filter: [scale]
The selected video_out device is incompatible with this codec.
Try appending the scale filter to your filter list,
e.g. -vf spp,scale instead of -vf spp.
VDecoder init failed :(

VDec: vo config request - 720 x 576 (preferred colorspace: Planar YV12)
VDec: using Planar YV12 as output csp (no 0)
Movie-Aspect is 1.33:1 - prescaling to correct movie aspect.
VO: [xv] 720x576 => 768x576 Planar YV12
*************************************************
So, I want to make a divx file that can be played straight in the divx
player, but what I get is no picture, only sound. I have tried to play older
.avi files with the player and it worked (I did not encode those myself).
This is what I use for encoding:
mencoder Filmtar/Probabad/test_clip.mpg -ovc lavc -lavcopts
vcodec=mpeg4:vpass=1 -oac copy -o /dev/null
then
mencoder Filmtar/Probapad/test_clip.mpg -idx -ovc lavc -lavcopts
vcodec=mpeg4:mbd=2:trell:vpass=2 -oac copy -o Filmtar/Probapad/test_clip.avi
And this is what I get with mplayer playing the resulting avi file (which
plays all right on the computer):
*******************************
Playing Filmtar/Probapad/test_clip.avi.

What settings should I try to make the movie playable in the standalone divx
player?
Thanks,
