Did perhaps the first pass complete and the encoding move on to the 
second pass? With the turbo option, the first pass skips all the CPU 
expensive optimizations.

Yes, it did complete the first pass and is on the second now.  In fact its
still running.

Should I go ahead and only run one at a time?
