[MEncoder-users] dark vobsub subtitles

I appreciate your response, however I am unable to glean any insight from it.
In the man page, it says:

−ifo <VOBsub IFO file>
  Indicate the file that will be used to load palette and frame size for
VOBsub subtitles.

how can I use this to get proper vobsubs from a stream dump?
