[MEncoder-users] I'm not sure about this is a bug?

I am not completely sure that this is supposed to work. You could
probably (re)generate the index in a extra step (should be in the
documentation somewhere).

Very unlikely, why do you think it is the index writing that causes the
problem? Maybe mencoder hangs in a network read or something like that?
And just in case you should update to SVN version 26321 or newer.

No, from the mencoder code side this does not seem possible. But from
the line quoted before I guess you are using Windows, and that always
does the most idiotic things, it might be Windows that just kills the program.
I'd suggest comparing the behaviour with the one under Linux, Solaris,
*BSD, OSX or whatever (and for those I'd also strongly recommend to use
an ordinary 'kill' instead of any CTRL+C hacks).
