[MEncoder-users] MEncoder problems on standalone players

Hi,

I'm new here, just joined to ask a question. I hope it's not offtopic and wasn't answered before (tried to dig up the archive, but there's no search function).

I don't know a lot about MEncoder (is it a frontend for XviD or an alternative MPEG-4 encoder), but recently everybody started to use MEncoder 1.0rc1-4.1.1 and my standalone players (cheap, but quite good Zoran Vaddis 882 based noname products) can't play these XviDs. I only get a few green rectangles, no sound and the timer shows several minute skips.

I would like to know is there a bug or something what is causing this and will it be fixed later, or is there some special new setting (matrix, optimization routine etc.) which was implemented lately and isn't fully compatible with standalone DivX players? And if it won't be fixed, is there a way to convert these movies quickly to DivX compatible format without slow full processing? (I tried to fix these with AVIMux and VirtualDub's Direct stream copy + Save old format AVI - these usually fixed the other compatibility problems I had before, but not this one.)

Thanks,
