Hi everybody,

i have files with AC-3 6 channel input which i want to convert to x264/mp3
AVIs,
when i convert the files with default audio settings the output sound is
to quiet.

In the DOC i read about "channel mixing" with the pan filter. What i need
is stereo
output, so i tried this command line:

mencoder -cache 51200 -of avi -ovc x264 -ofps 25 -oac mp3lame -srate 44100
-channels 6 -af pan=2:1:0:0:1:1:0:0:1:0.5:0.5:1:1 -mc 0 -vf
kerndeint,scale=768:576,harddup -x264encopts
"keyint=250:min-keyint=25:scenecut=40:bframes=3:b-bias=0:ref=5:deblock=-2,-2:crf=28:ratetol=1.0:vbv-bufsize=0:vbv-init=0.0:ipratio=1.4:pbratio=1.3:chroma-qp-offset=0:rceq=blurCplx^(1-qComp):qcomp=0.6:cplxblur=20.0:qblur=0.5:subq=4:partitions=all:direct-8x8=-1:direct=auto:me=hex:8x8dct:trellis=1:nodct_decimate:nr=0:sar=1/1:fps=25:threads=auto:psnr:ssim"
-lameopts "cbr:preset=128:mode=0" -o 05.avi 05.mpg

The volume is much louder but i hear sometimes "klicks" in the file.

Here is a sample file:

http://rapidshare.com/files/71998087/05_crf_28_deblock_min_mc0_SURROUND_3.avi

In the example from the DOC "Example: downmixing 6-channel PCM" shouldn't
it be

-af pan=2:1:0:1:1:1:0:0:1:0.5:0.5:1:1

than

-af pan=2:1:0:0:1:1:0:0:1:0.5:0.5:1:1

because the front right channel should go with 100% to "itself"?

Anybody an idea how get out these "klicks"?

kind regards,

Tobias Brockamp
