[MEncoder-users] EDL details

Hi.

I did a previous attempt to use edl in mencoder, but failed.
I want to give mencoder another chance now.
So I have some questions:
- Is edl only for mplayer or also for mencoder? (The doc doesnt say.)
- How to I display stip until the end of the video? (real video length
  doesnt get detected correctly.)
- Does a hand written edl do? Does the ending have to be .edl or is
  .txt ok too?
- How do I verify the edl actually used from the command line output?
  (Last I tried mencoder just seemed to ignore my -edl <filename>
  command.)
