I spent quite a while on my PC at home yesterday trying to convert the 
files with no joy, but I'm at work right now and I just tried the 
conversion here with ..

mencoder m2u00002.mpg -o here.flv -of lavf -lavfopts 
i_certify_that_my_video_stream_does_not_use_b_frames -vop scale -zoom 
-xy 430 -oac mp3lame -lameopts abr:br=56 -ovc lavc -lavcopts 
vcodec=flv:vbitrate=250:mbd=2:mv0:trell:v4mv:cbp:last_pred=3 -srate 22050

.. and it works fine.

So it looks like my home version of mplayer is missing something or 
other that my office version has.

Any idea what it might be?
