read man mkfifo, this is very simple way to transfer data between apps. 
This is NOT pipe, so the disk will be used anyway. This might be 
tolerated via nice setting. Also, read "man 7 fifo", there is a 
description what actually happens. No frames may be dropped, but I do 
not know what happens to mplayer if fifo overflows. The easiest way is 
to test if it works.
