Hi everybody.

Could anyone confirm if this is possible to play 4:3 VideoDVD on widescreen
16:9 with correct aspect ratio?
When a movie is AVI file, I can set "Fit Height" on my DVD player, and it
will be played with correct aspect ratio 4:3; black lines will be added on
both sides.
But when I play VideoDVD with 4:3 content, none of the options can do the
same; the movie is still played 16:9.

mencoder -oac lavc -ovc lavc -of mpeg -mpegopts format=dvd \
-vf blackframe,hqdn3d,scale=720:480,pp=ha/va/dr,harddup \
-srate 48000 -af resample=48000:0:2,volnorm=2:0.4 \
-lavcopts \
vcodec=mpeg2video:vrc_buf_size=1835:vrc_maxrate=8500:vbitrate=8000:\
keyint=18:vstrict=0:trell:mbd=2:precmp=2:subcmp=3:cmp=3:dia=6:predia=4:\

acodec=ac3:abitrate=96:aspect=4/3 -ofps 30000/1001 \
-o movie.mpg movie.avi

When authoring, I indicate aspect 4:3 and noletterbox.

On a 4:3 screen it looks correct. Do I have any chance of getting it 4:3 on
a widescreen TV?

Thank you very much in advance!

Andriy
