[MEncoder-users] encoding images for powerpoint

I am trying to encode scientific data for movies to be played in  
powerpoint.

I have tried msmpeg4v2 and that plays in windows media player, but  
not in powerpoint on the same computer?   This seems to happens on  
many different machines running w2k and XP.  Does anyone have any  
ideas on how to do this.

Also, what are good options for data produced by visualization  
programs.  WHat i used for standard video makes the frames very blotchy.
