It seems the configure script on ARM doesn't really check
the CPU features. In my case, as I use an ARM v5, I had to
explicitly specify "--disable-armv6"

Now I was able to correctly encode a video from few frames,
the performance are acceptable for this kind of machine ;)

I can encode 2048x1536 jpegs, scaled down to 720x540, in
mpeg4 avi at about 0.1 - 0.2fps
