Hi all:

I tried Mencoder1.0rc1 in my ubuntu and found a big problem: it fails to
encode the audio.

With MPlayer0.99+1.0Pre8 (the one shiped with Ubuntu) all works fine,
but with MPlayer/Mencoder 1.0 RC1, compiled in my Athlon 64 X2 (with
Ubuntu 32 bits) starts the problems.

First I have to disable MP3LIB (like did Ubuntu in its precompiled
packages) to ensure that sound in video files worked fine. But when I
reencode a file with mencoder, the audio is played accelerated and with
noise, and completely out of sync, of course (the video is fine).

I used this line:

/usr/local/bin/mencoder -srate 44100 -af lavcresample=44100 -oac lavc
-ovc lavc -of mpeg -mpegopts format=dvd -endpos 6 -ofps 25 -vf
expand=640:480:0:56,scale=720:576,harddup -lavcopts
vcodec=mpeg2video:trell:mbd=2:vrc_maxrate=7501:vrc_buf_size=1835:vbitrate=5001:keyint=15:acodec=mp2:abitrate=224:aspect=4/3
-o test.mpg /home/raster/Desktop/film.avi > log.txt 2>&1

I receive a repetitive error:

incorrect frame size
invalid new backstep XXX

(with XXX an increasing number). I attach the output.

The same command works fine with previous versions of Mencoder.

I searched the web and the forums for that error but didn't find useful
pages.

How can I fix this?

Thanks.
