[MEncoder-users] vp6 and decoding / resizing / thumbnail

i want to use mencoder on linux (fedora core 5) to take a vp6 encoded 
SWF video , and then generate a JPG from a frame as a thumbnail. i also 
want to create a "video thumbnail" where i cut the SWF video down to say 
5 seconds and resize it.


i'm aware that vp6 encoding is not supported by mencoder.  but i'm 
wondering if the vp6 decoder can decode a SWF, i'd be happy to write a 
new SWF in a different codec like h264 .  is this possible?  any help 
would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
