[MEncoder-users] using mf:// with stdin

Is it possible to output a series of image files onto stdin and have 
mencoder encode them to an avi?  I haven't been able to find an example 
of this and don't know if it can be done this way.

I'm currently using a an image processing program to output jpegs to 
files & then using the normal mf://*.jpg to create the video.  I'd like 
to save the time & disk space of writing the files out.  I can also send 
out some sort of raw or encoded format if that would work better with 
some other input option.  I'm open to any other ideas for how to do this.
