Very strange thing.
I'm trying to watch tv using mplayer. It seemed to be working ok, but then
suddenly when I typed again the command to watch another channel (mplayer
tv://8) and pressed enter, my computer reboots!
That was yesterday. Now I tried again, mplayer seemed to work with all
channels so I tried mencoder. I typed the command and press enter. No output
on the console... one second later my computer reboots again.
My TV card is a Best Buy BT878.
Config:
tv=driver=v4l2:input=0:width=768:height=576:device=/dev/video0:audiorate=48000:n
orm=PAL:chanlist=europe-west:channels=46-TVE_1,43-La_2 (and so on)
MPlayer 1.0pre8-3.3.4, SuSE 9.2 with kernel 2.6.8-24-default
mencoder command:
mencoder -o video.avi \
-oac mp3lame -lameopts vol=0:mode=3:cbr:br=64 \
-ffourcc DX50 \
-ovc lavc \
-lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4:vbitrate=1200:mbd=0:vstrict=1:vqmax=31 \
-vf-add scale=576:432 -zoom \
tv://2
Other TV applications like xawtv or kdetv work ok.
If I use "driver=v4l" instead of v4l2, mplayer segfauls:
Playing tv://1.

=================================================================
WARNING: YOU ARE USING V4L DEMUXER WITH V4L2 DRIVERS!!!
As the V4L1 compatibility layer is broken, this may not work.
If you encounter any problems, use driver=v4l2 instead.
Bugreports on driver=v4l with v4l2 drivers will be ignored.

MPlayer interrupted by signal 11 in module: free_demuxer
- MPlayer crashed by bad usage of CPU/FPU/RAM.
Recompile MPlayer with --enable-debug and make a 'gdb' backtrace and
disassembly. Details in DOCS/HTML/en/bugreports_what.html#bugreports_crash.
- MPlayer crashed. This shouldn't happen.
It can be a bug in the MPlayer code _or_ in your drivers _or_ in your
gcc version. If you think it's MPlayer's fault, please read
DOCS/HTML/en/bugreports.html and follow the instructions there. We can't and
won't help unless you provide this information when reporting a possible
bug.
Any ideas?
